Muslims, unless willing to leave the core Islamic practices, would have remained sweepers and chaprasis serving their Hindu masters instead of British ones. Please see the statistics of Muslims in core Indian Govt positions or bureaucracy today. Although there have always been cases of an odd Muslim or two rising in their system, just as there were cases during the British Raj; however never without major compromises at that individual’s end in terms of his support to the Raj or letting go of numerous principles of Islamic faith.
Let’s not fall for the fake friends of Pakistan thriving in our own system, communities, politics, and NGOs.Also, those trying to promote this country as “Quaid ka Pakistan” are actually trying to deceive young minds into believing that Quaid was a secularist and hence Pakistan should be secularist too.
Those today promoting Pak-India brotherhood are in reality, knowingly or unknowingly, supporting the Indian Strategic Aim or “Akhand Bharat” (Greater India) i.e expansion of Hindu dominance from River Kabul-Indus to Bangladesh inclusive and beyond, based on the ancient map of HINDUSTAN; the Subcontinent.

Notwithstanding the fact that the first Pakistani Nationality ever given by Quaid, was to a foreign Muslim Scholar, only so that the laws and systems in the country could be revolutionized and brought under the Islamic principles of governance. The first ever visit of Quaid after independence was to Egypt to meet up with heads of the Brotherhood with the aim of getting their intellectual support for creating an Islamic constitution/set of laws for the newly established Pakistan. His first ever speech at the inauguration of the State Bank carried a clear message against the Interest based Banking system and organizations like IMF and World Bank.

Yet, there are corroded minds in our midst who spread the idea that Quaid wanted a secular state, the where system of interest in Banking and business could thrive, where a mirage of development could be shown under the hidden and ugly reality of mortgaged lives and tuition loans. They also misquote the line from his speech: “you can all practice whatever religion you like as it is not of any business of the state” making it look like the state laws were themselves supposed to be secular; whereas this itself, is an Islamic principle of Governance, that those of other religions are free to practice their faith and business in an Islamic country as long as they pay their taxes.

A sanctified land where Muslims could spend their lives freely under Islamic laws without fear or being deceived by Bankers, corrupt politicians, drunk intellectuals, and self-catering sold out religious scholars. Where true principles Islamic welfare could be applied for its subjects. Those of free education, medical facilities and opportunities for growth. Where the solid and militarily strong independent Muslim country could form the backbone for unity of all the Muslims around the globe – The practical manifestation of Allama Iqbal’s Pakistan. But Alas…
