Vivo’s iQOO lineup consists of some of the most affordable flagship devices of 2020 and the latest addition, Neo3 5G, to the series might just be the best flagship killer of the year. The iQOO Neo 3 has a 144 Hz display, Snapdragon 865, UFS 3.1, and super-fast charging, all for just $380.

For starters, the iQOO Neo3 5G comes with an HDR 10-ready 6.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD panel. An AMOLED panel would have been ideal, and IQOO likely downgraded it to get the desired refresh rate at the same cost. The triple camera array at the back consists of a 48 MP primary sensor assisted by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP macro camera. Lastly, there is a 12 MP hole-punch front-facing camera nestled at the top-right corner of the screen.
Unlike its predecessor, iQOO is branding this as a gaming smartphone, as is evident with the high-refresh-rate screen. There is also an ’11-layer cooling’ system incorporated in the phone to help bolster the device’s performance under load. It also comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage to make things snappier. The base configuration starts at 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which can be bumped up to 12 GB and 256 GB, respectively.
Have a look at detailed functions.
Design and Display
The handset has a 6.57″ FHD+ LCD panel with razor-thin bezels and a punch-hole front camera on the top right corner. The display has a 144 Hz refresh rate (the highest available in conventional smartphones), HDR10 support, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side on top of the power button.

The back has a triple camera setup in a rectangular module and the iQOO Neo branding at the bottom.
Internals and Storage
The phone internal part is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC which is coupled with 256 GB UFS 3.1 and several different RAM options including 6 GB, 8 GB, and 12 GB. The processor on it is a 2.84 GHz octa-core unit.
On the software side, the phone boots Vivo’s custom iQOO UI on top of Android 10 with loads of customizations.
Cameras
The camera lenses at the back include a 48 MP main shooter, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro lens for close up shots. The camera is equipped with night mode photography, slow-motion videos, and OIS.

The front camera is a 16 MP lens with its own set of features including AI beauty mode, smart face recognition, short videos, and more.
Battery and Pricing
In iQOO Neo3’s case, there is a massive 4,500 mAh battery that probably won’t be enough to power the 144 Hz display for a full day. The battery is equipped with 44 W fast charging, which should be able to charge the device from 0 to 100% within an hour.
