The news of four members of PML-N seeking a deal is making the rounds in Pakistan. However, senior journalist Arif Hameed Bhatti stated that the news is baseless.
Special Assistant to the PM on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill claimed that the Opposition wants a deal with the government to allow its top leaders to leave the country. Shahbaz Gill said the leaders include Shehbaz Sharif, his son Hamza Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz. The fourth person, according to Gill, is Nawaz Sharif who is already in London.
Regarding this, Arif Hameed Bhatti, while talking to a private news program, said he checked whether the news was true or not. However, he did not find any verification.
Moreover, Arif Hameed said that reports of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s return are baseless too. According to Arif Hameed, the government claims that it will ensure Nawaz’s return are nothing but a cover-up and preparation for something much bigger. Arif Hameed likened the claims to a “bomb blast about to go off.”

To clarify, there have many reports regarding Nawaz Sharif’s return. The PML-N camp, without giving a specific date, has frequently maintained that Nawaz Sharif will soon return to Pakistan. In short, PML-N claims that Nawaz Sharif will keep his promise to the public and “save them” from inflation brought by the PTI government.
While PML-N says that Nawaz Sharif will return voluntarily to supposedly oust the ruling PTI government, the government on the other hand says that Nawaz Sharif will have to be brought back. Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the government will bring back Nawaz as the “accused will not return by himself”.

Maryam Nawaz trying to stay relevant?
Interestingly, Arif Hameed also revealed that it is highly unlikely that PML-N will oust the PTI government. He said people take Maryam Nawaz too seriously.
According to Arif Hameed, “Maryam Nawaz has sent the government packing countless of times”. He said this owing to how frequently Maryam Nawaz and PML-N set a deadline for PTI.
Tuesday, while talking to the media after a hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC), Maryam Nawaz said the PTI-led government is heading towards its fate and its ouster is a matter of days and not weeks or months.
Regarding this, Arif Hameed bluntly said that PTI did not come to governance through its own will, nor will it leave on its own. Through this, he implied that the people who brought PTI into the government, only those hold the power to oust it. To clarify, there have been accusations against PTI that it was created by the establishment.
Therefore, Arif Hameed said Maryam Nawaz talks about ousting PTI only to remain relevant in the media.
“Instead of sending the government home, Maryam Nawaz should bring her father Nawaz Sharif back home,” Arif Hameed said. He also took a jibe at Maryam Nawaz by saying that her own father does not listen to her, hence there is no way the government will do the same!
