Islamabad Police has arrested 552 criminals, including 47 absconders in the month of June and recovered valuables worth more than Rs.27.471 million from them. A police spokesman said, that after the directions of SSP (Operation) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi, all police officials have accelerated efforts in investigating the theft and burglary cases.
The Islamabad Police followed up on a total of 37 murder cases in 2018 including six blind murder cases from last year and two from the current year. Islamabad Police arrested a total of 77 suspects in pursuance of these investigations after thorough forensic reports.
Police arrested 83 persons involved in 47 robbery cases and recovered stolen and snatched valuables worth Rs.1,22,49,700. During special crackdown against absconders, police arrested 19 proclaimed offenders and 28 court absconders.
According to a notification, a Punjab Police officer Faisal Ali Raja, DIG Operation, Sikandar Hayat AIG, SP Gulfam Nasir SP Special Branch, while officer coming from Sindh Police included Hasan Jahangir SDPO Aabpara.
Police apprehended 67 persons for possessing illegal weapons and recovered two Kalashnikovs/Rifles, 71 pistols and 278 rounds from them. A total of 85 persons were held for having narcotics and liquor while 82 cases were registered against them besides recovery of 15.521-kilogram hashish, 6.228-kilogram heroin and 773 bottles of wine liquor.
ASI Mukhtar Ahmed from Karachi Company police station arrested an accused Wajid Khan and recovered 30 pistol from him. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal from Tarnol police station caught Aamir Sohail during checking at Fateh Jhang Road and recovered 30 bore pistol and five rounds from him.

Sub-Inspector Zafar Iqbal from Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad police arrested Sardar and recovered 50 gram ice from him. Sub-Inspector Ghulam Rasool from Aabpara police station nabbed Faraz, recovering 115 gram hashish from him.

In the meanwhile, reshuffling, transfers and appointments on large scale continued in Islamabad Police, with officers being transferred from Punjab Police to the Federal Capital.

Two senior officers of Islamabad Police SSP Malik Matloob and Ismatullah Junejo services returned to establishment division, while SSP Muhammad Suleman was sent to security division, Liaqat Niazi SP rural, Hassam Bin Iqbal SP Industrial Area, Capt (retd) Amir Niazi SP City, Zeeshan Hiader SP Saddar Zone.
