Security forces conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

The army’s media wing stated that the operation was executed based on information about the presence of terrorists in Mir Ali. The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition. The ISPR emphasized the ongoing sanitization operation to eradicate any remaining terrorists in the area, underscoring the security forces’ commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country.

During a gathering on Thursday, participants reiterated the Pakistan Army’s determination to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan against both direct and indirect threats. The meeting included briefings on the prevailing geostrategic environment, national security challenges, and the armed forces’ evolving strategy in response to emerging threats.

Serious concerns were expressed regarding the sanctuaries and freedom of action enjoyed by terrorists, particularly those associated with the proscribed TTP and similar groups in a neighboring country. The availability of advanced weaponry to these terrorists was also highlighted as a significant point of concern affecting Pakistan’s security.
