Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Wednesday, condemned New Delhi’s agenda to launch an “Israel model” in the occupied Himalayan valley of Kashmir, regarding it as a portrayal of the “fascist mindset of the Indian government’s RSS ideology” that has kept the innocent people of Kashmir under siege for over 100 days.
The Premier called upon the international community to put aside their “trading interests” and end their prolonged silence on the ongoing human rights violations in the occupied valley.
Israel Model: Fascist RSS Ideology
Prime Minister Imran Khan, commenting on the remarks of Indian Consul General in New York, Sandeep Chakravorty, said, “Shows the fascist mindset of the Indian govt’s RSS ideology that has continued the siege of IOJK for over 100 days, subjecting Kashmiris to the worst violation of their human rights while the powerful countries remain silent because of their trading interests.”

Addressing a private gathering of Kashmiri Hindus and Indian nationals, Sandeep Chakravorty, India’s Consul General in New York City, said that New Delhi will build settlements in occupied Kashmir, modelled after the Israeli settlements in Palestine to facilitate the return of Kashmir’s Hindu community.

Addressing the Kashmiri Pandits and Indians, Chakravorty urged them to allow the Narendra Modi-led Indian government some time to implement its agendas across the occupied valley.
He said, as cited by the Middle East Eye, “I believe the security situation will improve, it will allow the refugees to go back, and in your lifetime, you will be able to go back … and you will be able to find security, because we already have a model in the world.”

“I don’t know why we don’t follow it. It has happened in the Middle East. If the Israeli people can do it, we can also do it.”

The Indian Consul General also criticized the interference of the international community into the unprecedented curfew and human rights violations occurring in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the matter is “getting pulled into the [UN] Human Rights Council. It’s getting pulled into the US Congress.”
He added, “A delegation wants to go. But go to other places. Go to Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan. No one is talking about taking photos there. So why do they want to come to our place? They don’t like it now that we are now asserting ourselves.”

Tony Ashai, a Kashmiri-American activist, observed that the Modi-led BJP government is using the Kashmir Pundits for “forwarding their own agenda.”
He said, “I feel sorry for Pandits who get used by these bigots for forwarding their own agenda. Instead, they could build housing for Pandits in Kashmir and rehabilitate them. I bet you BJP will never make that happen because then they have nothing run elections on.”
