A video surfaced on Thursday, today, showing Member of National Assembly and Awami Raj Party chairperson Jamshed Dasti pleading for help from behind the grill of a police transport vehicle.
In the one minute video, Dasti’s cracked voice begs for mercy and recounts the horrors faced by him during his incarceration. He is heard saying that the police authorities release scorpions and snakes into his cell.
He said that he had not been fed for days and the authorities were subjecting him to torture. The charges against him were false he claimed.
Jamshed Dasti had been arrested earlier this month on charges of “interfering with official business”

Saying that it was no more Musharraf’s regime, he asked the Chief Justice to take suo motu action to grant him reprieve.
Jamshed Dasti had been arrested earlier this month on charges of “interfering with official business” after he and a group of his supporters opened a sluice gate at the Kalu headworks channel in Muzzafarabad.
Reportedly, Dasti did this due to the fact that hundreds of acres of farmland had been deprived of water supply and the scores of poor farmers were suffering.
He was widely ridiculed and shunned after he claimed on the National Assembly floor that booze and drugs worth 50 million rupees were being supplied to the parliamentary lodges

Dasti has a reputation of being a principled man and has always been at loggerheads with the political establishment.
In 2014, Jamshed Dasti brought to attention the purported misuse of parliamentary lodges for immoral activity. He was widely ridiculed and shunned after he claimed on the National Assembly floor that booze and drugs worth 50 million rupees were being supplied to the parliamentary lodges and it was also frequented by prostitutes.
The very next day a prank was played on him by unknown individuals who placed an empty bottle of whiskey on his door sill.
The sight of this MNA, who frequently called attention to the corruption of the system, in such a sorry state stands as evidence of the dystopian and cruel state of affairs.
