Jasprit Bumrah thanked Shaheen Shah for the gift for new born

This heartwarming exchange between two international cricket stars transcended borders and showcased the camaraderie that exists in the cricketing fraternity.

Pakistani pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi extended his warm congratulations to Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah on the birth of his child. The gesture of goodwill was captured in a viral video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and has since touched the hearts of cricket fans worldwide.

In the touching video, Afridi can be seen felicitating Bumrah on the joyous news, to which the Indian pacer responded with gratitude. “Bhai bohot bohot mubarak ho, yeh naye shehzade k liye. Allah usko hamesh khush rakhe aur naya Bumrah bane” (Many congratulations, Bumrah bhai, and to bhabhi. May Allah always keep your son happy, and he becomes the new Bumrah),” Afridi conveyed his best wishes to Bumrah.

Bumrah, who had left the Indian camp in Sri Lanka last Sunday to be with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, in Mumbai for the birth of their child, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. He responded, saying, “Beautiful gesture, my family and I are overwhelmed with the love! Best wishes always.”

In other cricketing news, the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan Super 4 match in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 was called off due to relentless rain. When the rain intervened, India had amassed a total of 147/2 in 24.1 overs, with KL Rahul (17*) and Virat Kohli (8*) at the crease. As the weather played spoilsport, Rahul and Kohli will resume India’s first innings on the reserve day.

Earlier in the match, India’s opening duo, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, had given their team a flying start with an impressive 121-run partnership. This partnership was a remarkable turnaround for both players, as they dominated Pakistan’s formidable pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah. Rohit Sharma scored a brisk 49-ball 56, featuring six boundaries and four sixes, while Shubman Gill contributed a solid 52-ball 58, including 10 boundaries.

However, the joy of India’s batting performance was marred by rain, which ultimately led to the game being decided on the reserve day.

The Asia Cup 2023 match showcased the unpredictability of cricket, where camaraderie and goodwill, as demonstrated by Afridi and Bumrah, can shine even in the face of weather-induced disruptions.
