Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar has expressed admiration for Pakistani singer Moazzam Khan after he came across his singing videos on the internet.
The video was the soulful rendition of the famous Bollywood song ‘Yeh Nain Darey Darey’ from 1964 movie Kohraa. Listening to his voice, Javed Akhtar expressed his wish for Moazzam Khan to sing some songs for them.
Akhtar praised Khan’s performance and made a heartfelt invitation. “Just now I watched a gentleman Muazzam saheb on YouTube singing ‘Yeh Nain Darey Darey’. Could he please contact me? I will be thankful if he sings a few songs for us,” the 80-year-old lyricist wrote, expressing a desire to collaborate with the talented singer.
Touched by Akhtar’s words, Moazzam Ali Khan shared a note of gratitude on his social media platforms. “Truly grateful to be appreciated by the legendary Javed Akhtar Sahab. His words have inspired generations, and to have him acknowledge my voice and song is an honor beyond words,” Khan wrote.
Moazzam Khan has a wide following on his social media. His talent has now touched the hearts in cross-border India. With such a pleasant exchange, fans can hope for some collaboration soon.
However, in another incident, Ibrahim Ali Khan threatened a Pakistani critic for criticism his performance in his debut movie.
Ibrahim, son of veteran Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, made his acting debut in Nadaaniyan, a romantic drama released on a popular streaming platform. While the film generated significant buzz before its premiere, its reception among audiences and critics has been mixed. Ibrahim’s performance, in particular, has been widely discussed, with opinions varying on his acting skills and screen presence.
