Jemima Goldsmith, the first wife of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan on Wednesday warned to file a lawsuit against Imran’s second wife Reham Khan if she goes ahead to publish her controversial book in the United Kingdom.
Jemima took to Twitter to express her views on Reham Khan’s book. She said, “I’ve been assured that it’s too libelous to be published in the United Kingdom but if it is published here, I will be suing for defamation & breach of privacy on behalf of my (then) 16-year-old son & in relation to the moronic, re-hashed Zionist conspiracy theories.”
In the alleged manuscript of her book, Reham claimed that Jemima discovered cannabis from his [Qasim Ali Khan jacket]. She alleged that he was doing weed with Jemima’s brother, his own uncle [zac goldsmith]. “It was Suleiman that disturbed me the most. I had never seen such a sad looking boy. He was nervous and unsure of himself, and I didn’t see him smile once the entire evening,” she added.
The vulgar content of the book and plethora of allegations hurled at Imran Khan reflects the clear intention and motives behind penning this book. The aim is to damage Khan politically.
She compared her son Sahir with Imran’s sons Qasim and Suleiman who in her opinion was sitting with Imran and talking confidently, unlike Imran’s children. Commenting on Imran-Jemima relationship, she said, he [Imran] was the resident counselor for not only his own ex-wife’s problems with the men in her life, but also took the role of emotional coach to Kate Rothschild [ex-wife of Jemima’s brother Ben Goldsmith].

She made a reference to Rothschild’s ancestors having a close connection with Israeli cause. She claimed that one of her [Kate Rothschild] ancestors, Walter Rothschild, was responsible for drafting the declaration for a Jewish homeland in Palestine in 1917, which came to be known as the Balfour declaration. After citing these examples, she [Reham] alleged that “I found it strange that Imran made a point of extreme public rhetoric against the Americans while sharing close ties with those who had a clear interest in Israel.”
She had dedicated few pages to talk about Imran’s Zionist connections. She said, Henry Kissinger [Veteran American diplomate], Pakistan’s late foreign minister Sahibzada Yaqub Khan and Sir James Goldsmith [Jemima’s father] had a meeting in 1996, where he told the Pakistani FM to look after our boy [Imran Khan]. She claimed that former DG ISI confirmed the story.
Jemima broke her silence over the issue which has seen the limelight and extensive media coverage in the last few days. It has been the most hotly debated topic among the political analysts and masses in general. With general elections looming, fearing that Reham’s revelations can prove damaging for PTI, party has responded strongly. It condemned Reham’s motives to affect the party’s chances in the upcoming elections.

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary alleged that the Rehman is working on Raiwind’s agenda and conspired with the PML-N leaders including Hanif Abbassi to sabotage PTI’s election campaign. Reham refuted the arguments put forward by the PTI’ official spokesperson and stated that the party seems confused and has nothing concrete to say against her. It was PTI chief which gave her name and fame. She is leveraging the situation to make quick bucks.

Reham may deny her motives behind writing this book. But, the content of the book, suggests otherwise. Despite spending more than a decade with her first husband [Ejaz Rehman], she had more focus on life and activities of PTI chief and ended up writing more than 400-pages on her 10-month marriage with Imran Khan.

It also shows, nothing exciting happened in her life prior to this marriage to mention in the book. She was virtually an unknown figure before getting married to Khan. Moreover, her decision to release the book only weeks before the general elections clearly indicate her intention to affect PTI’s election campaign.
She ridiculed Khan’s personal life and attempted to bridge the connection between Imran and Zionist lobbies. Why would a person, writing a book on her 45-year’s personal life titled ‘Reham Khan’ will focus entirely on a marriage of 10-months?
