Joe Wilson calls for Imran Khan’s release, meets Minister Mohsin Naqvi

US Congressman and Republican representative Joe Wilson calls for the release of Imran Khan in his latest tweet. Interestingly, his tweet comes a few hours after he met Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Joe Wilson is currently on the House Foreign Relations and Armed Services Committees. A picture and a small clip from the meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Joe Wilson were released on social media. The Interior Minister is visiting the United States of America these days. He is extending his outreach to the incoming government of Republicans, led by President Donald Trump.

The Interior Minister also attended Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony. Naqvi held separate meetings with Joe Wilson and Rob Bresnahan in Washington.

During the meetings, they exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, promotion of Pakistan-US relations, and establishment of lasting peace in the region, particularly the situation in Afghanistan.

Both sides also agreed on the importance of increasing trade and cultural exchanges to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Followed by Joe Wilson, another Republican Congressman, Representative Jack Bergman also called for the release of Imran Khan. “The facts are straightforward, it’s no time to mince words. Free Imran Khan,” said Bergman in his latest tweet on X.

Earlier, foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump,  Richard Grenell made a bold call for the release of Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan. His assertive statements gained significant traction in the domestic sphere of Pakistan, sparking widespread discussion and debate on prime-time TV talk shows, and compelling a response from the government.
