Judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heads to USA

Justice Shah will also meet notable professors from Harvard University and Boston University. He will address the South Asian Law Students Association at Harvard and meet with Pakistani students.

Senior Supreme Court judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heads to the United States of America (USA) to attend seminars on legal issues.

It has been learnt that Justice Mansoor will also give lectures at these seminars, and will return on September 12. The judge will resume hearing of the cases from September 16.  He will be engaging in activities at Yale University, Harvard University, and New York University.

Before arriving in the US, he is expected to meet the law faculty of NYU, Abu Dhabi, to discuss their online training program with the Federal Judicial Academy. In the US, his engagements will begin with a lecture on climate justice and human rights at NYU, followed by meetings with Professor Cesar Rodriguez to strengthen the ongoing partnership between FJA and NYU.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will then participate in the Global Constitutionalism Seminar 2024, at Yale University. This is a prestigious event attended by Supreme Court judges from around the world. This year’s theme is “Judging in Times of Crisis.”

He will also meet Professor Daniel Markovits at Yale and will interact with the Pakistani students studying at the institution.

Justice Shah will also meet notable professors from Harvard University and Boston University. He will address the South Asian Law Students Association at Harvard and meet with Pakistani students.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is expected to become the next Chief Justice of Pakistan. The current Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Esa will be retiring in October. Justice Shah is expected to take the oath on October 25th, 2024.
