‘Kana Yari’ singer loses home in Balochistan floods

Social media users including actor Ahmed Ali Butt urged Coke Studio to take responsibility and assist Bugti.

Coke Studio’s ‘Kana Yari’ singer Wahab Ali Bugti was left in despair after devastating floods in Balochistan destroyed his home. A social media post said Wahab was living in dire conditions with his family after his mud house was destroyed by a flood.

Bugti rose to prominence following Coke Studio’s hit song this year, Kana Yari. He sang the song along with two singers, Kaifi Khalil and Eva B. He has now migrated to the city Dera Murad Jamali along with his family from his village.

The social media post read, “Wahab Bhugti who got famous after singing “Kana yari” at coke studio has been living in dire conditions due to the floods in Balochistan. His mud house was destroyed and his family has been living without a home.”

Pictures of him sitting under the bare sky with his children went viral on social media.

Soon, many people came forward to help him. A social media user working for flood relief in Balochistan took up the task and reached out to Wahab Ali Bugti. The user then shared his account details and requested people to help him as much as possible.

Kaifi Khalil, his co-singer also shared his Jazzcash number. Muniba Mazari also shared the details.

Social media users including actor Ahmed Ali Butt urged Coke Studio to take responsibility and assist Bugti.

“I request Coke Studio to take care of their artist. Just like they benefit from artists and their name, as a brand they should also feel a moral responsibility to secure their artist’s well-being. A small act of kindness goes a long way,” said Ahmed Ali Butt.

Zulfi in his tweet said, “We are and will continue to be with Wahab Bugti Sahib and his loved ones to help overcome the difficult situation. Rest assured, he is being given all possible support on the ground.”
