A three-day Karachi Eat festival ended up in chaos and mismanagement. Videos and images of mismanagement and pandemonium at the event are making rounds on social media.
Reports of families and women being harassed were also reported. Visitors at the festival shared videos of stags jumping the wall, breaking the barricades, and entering the venue.
Singer Kaifi Khalil, performing at the event, also slammed the authorities and the management for poor security and management. Rumors were that the singer got injured amid the chaos at the event.
On Monday morning, Kaifi Khalil took to social media and brushed off the news of him being injured. He, however, called out the management for failing to provide families with a safe and secure environment. Khalil protested women being harassed at the event.
He said that he walked out of the event to protect the families and women from further humiliation. “I would just like to clarify the fake news that’s circulating around about me getting injured during my performance at the Karachi Eats Event yesterday which is not true,” said Kaifi Khalil in his Instagram story.

If Karachi Eat can’t provide security & enough bouncers for families to enjoy they should cancel the event all together, horrifying videos & stories emerging of multiple women being harassed

Stags broke the gates and forcefully entered #KarachiEat today. People are saying that they literally had to leave through spaces between walls and jump off them to get out of the chaos. Please ban such events in the city if security can’t be managed.

“I will say that I am extremely disappointed and upset because of what happened yesterday. Ladies that came out to enjoy the evening with their family and friends were harassed and treated inappropriately by a group of individuals that lacked decency and common sense. The event got canceled mid-performance because I couldn’t continue with what was going on and because it became a safety concern for people in the audience as well,” said Khalil while expressing his disappointment.

Khalil called out the management and said, “I request organizers to please take into consideration the safety of everyone attending when choosing the venue for such events especially the ladies, so such incidents don’t happen These events get organized so that people can come out to enjoy but there are some people who ruin the entire experience for everyone. This is the second time that this has happened at an event that I’m performing at and it’s disgusting and unacceptable.”
