Australian-Pakistani influencer Shaniera Akram on Sunday voiced strong words about the garbage situation on Karachi’s Clifton beach in a tweet. She posted a picture of standing on the polluted beach on her Twitter account. The picture showed heaps of plastic bags and garbage littered around the beach.
Our city is in pain and it’s telling us every day. We are crying out for help but no body can hear us. This has got to stop! This has bought shame on our city, our people and on our culture. This is not who we are 🇵🇰 pic.twitter.com/aM0gAXL7dU

Akram regretted the lack of cleanliness and apathy of the visitors and the authorities visiting the beach. Akram went on to say that despite repeated alerts sent to the authorities, no worthwhile arrangements have been made to maintain cleanliness on the beach.
Our city is sick, our marine life is choking, our people are crying, our children are playing in rubbish and the world is watching us do nothing! pic.twitter.com/SEiIXyEAOO

We want the beach clean for good, then we need to clean up the city first! Our city is a volcano spewing out rubbish and it’s destroying everything in its path
