Karan Johar spotted watching The Legend of Maula Jatt

Karan Johar is the first Indian public figure spotted watching the Pakistani blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt. The director is yet to comment on the movie and his viral picture.

A picture of renowned Indian filmmaker Karan Johar was spotted watching Pakistan’s much-hyped movie, The Legend of Maula Jatt in the theatre in Dubai.

A member of the audience took his picture in the cinema which is now making rounds on social media. Karan Johar is the first Indian public figure spotted watching the Pakistani blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt. The director is yet to comment on the movie and his viral picture. It is interesting to note that, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan appeared in Karan Johar’s last movie, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ released in 2016.

According to netizens, Karan Johar and Fawad Khan have a good friendship. The film features Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Humaima Malik, and Fawad Khan in the lead roles. Legend of Maula Jatt is the first Pakistani movie to have received smashing viewership at the international box office. The film opened to a historic first week in Pakistan as well. The movie was released on October 13th. The film has collected more than the combined first-day collection of Kumar’s Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God. The post on the official Instagram account of the Legend of Maula Jatt read, “Another day, another achievement! The Legend of Maula Jatt beats the highest grossing Indian movie of 2022, RRR’s lifetime business in just 17 days in the UK,” read a post. A few days it was reported that Pakistani movie has beaten the Amir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha.

According to the publication Deadline, TLOMJ is the first Pakistani film to have crossed PKR 100cr ($4.5 million) globally. “Through Tuesday, The Legend of Maula Jatt had taken PKR115 crore ($5.2 million). Of that, PKR33 crore ($1.5million) is from the home country and PKR82 crore ($3.7 million) is from offshore markets. In the UK, it is the highest-grossing Punjabi movie ever with £866K ($1 million) through Wednesday.” The publication said that, “In the US, the epic across two weekends has done $728,000, and in Canada $525,000 through Sunday. Midweek performance has also been strong, notably in the UK, Canada, and Australia.”
