The President of Kenya, William Ruto, has expressed regret at the assassination of one of Pakistan’s prominent journalist Arshad Sharif.
According to the details, the President of Kenya held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who discussed the incident of the death of senior Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif. The Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized an impartial and transparent investigation of the incident.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed to the President of Kenya the serious concern over the incident on behalf of the Pakistani nation and the media community. He also requested to complete the procedure for the early return of the late Arshad Sharif’s body.

In response, the Kenyan President expressed regret over the death of Arshad Sharif and assured that the demands of justice will be met. The Kenyan president also promised to send an investigation report on the incident soon. Furthermore, the Kenyan President promised to speed up the process of returning the body of the late Arshad Sharif to Pakistan.

Early Monday, Arshad Sharif was shot dead while traveling to Nairobi from Kenya’s Magadi town. According to Kenyan police, Arshad Sharif was shot in the head and killed by police after he and his driver allegedly breached a roadblock.
The body has been identified in a Kenyan morgue. Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has confirmed that the body of Arshad Sharif, the slain Pakistani senior journalist, has been identified in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.

“Pakistan High Commissioner, Kenyan police authorities, and doctors are currently in the mortuary, where Sharif’s body has been kept,” the minister said.
She added that the procedure for the repatriation of his body had been initiated. “We have requested Kenyan authorities to expedite the procedure,” Aurangzeb further said.
