Kh Saad Rafique embraces defeat against Latif Khosa

He lost the election to Latif Khosa in the constituency of Lahore NA-122. Khosa won the elections with 117,109 followed by Khwaja Saad Rafique who secured only 77, 907 votes in his strong-hold constituency.

PMLN leader Khwaja Saad Rafique gracefully accepts defeats and felicitates his opponent, the PTI-backed Independent Sardar Latif Khoosa.

He lost the election to Latif Khosa in the constituency of Lahore NA-122. Khosa won the elections with 117,109 followed by Khwaja Saad Rafique who secured only 77, 907 votes in his strong-hold constituency.

Accepting the results, Khwaja Saad Rafique accepted the defeat and felicitated Khosa on winning the election. He took to X to congratulate Latif Khosa.

“Heartfelt congratulations to Sardar Latif Khosa Cheers to a public decision Surrender May Allah give strength to the coming Parliament to overcome the national crisis by uniting Amen,” said Saad Rafique of PMLN.

So far, PTI-backed Independent candidates are leading the results in the Punjab Assembly and National Assembly.

The voters present in the premises of the polling stations at the poll-ending time were allowed to cast their votes, said a spokesperson for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

According to the ECP, over 128 million registered voters were scheduled to exercise their democratic right by casting votes for candidates participating in elections for the national and provincial legislatures.

The polling was held for 265 seats of the National Assembly and 590 seats of provincial assemblies. The voting took place on 51 seats of the Balochistan Assembly, 128 out of 130 seats of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, 296 out of 297 seats of the Punjab Assembly, and 130 seats of the Sindh Assembly.

The polling was held in 855 constituencies out of 859 however due to the candidate’s death, voting will not be held in NA 8, PP 266, PK 22, and PK 91.

Meanwhile, Ameer Haider Hoti of ANP has also accepted his defeat and has announced his resignation from the party position. In his tweet, he congratulated to PTI on winning the election from his constituency. He faced defeat in Mardan.

“I congratulate the newly elected Member of National Assembly Atif Khan and newly elected Member of Provincial Assembly Abdul Salam Khan from Mardan NA-22. Now these two members will represent the people of Mardan and it is the right of the people of our constituency that the elected representatives serve them. We accept the decision of the people,” said Hoti in his tweet.
