Khan responds to wedding rumours with fiery tweets

News Desk |

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s chairman Imran Khan gave a befitting reply to all the gossipmongers on Tuesday regarding his ‘alleged third marriage’ in a series of tweets.

Khan lashed at his rivals and accused Nawaz Sharif and Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman for propagating a malicious campaign against him and his alleged third wife, Bushra Maneka on media.

Khan made a series of the tweets and said that the campaign has hurt the reputation of Bushra Maneka and her family since she belongs to a conservative family.

He further added that he is not affected by their campaign but is concerned about his children and family.

Khan mentioned that he does not want to stoop to their level and discuss the private lives of their opponent on media.

Going after the former Prime Minister, he added: “I have known the Sharifs for 40 years and I know all their sordid personal lives, but I would never stoop to the level of exposing these sordid details.”

Khan’s third marriage has been a heated topic of discussion on media after the report published in a widely-read newspaper on Sunday that claimed Khan has performed his third Nikkah privately.

Following the report, PTI’s media management issued a statement in which they denied the news of the Nikah but said Khan has only proposed her as his spiritual leader.

The official statement also stated that Maneka is taking her time to discuss the proposal Khan sent her way, with her family and children.

Khan’s strong tweet came an hour after Nawaz Sharif blamed Khan for abandoning the lady to face society alone. He further said that Khan is hiding after putting the dignity of her family at stake.

The disgruntled former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Khan should publicly accept his Nikah with the lady.

Sharif expressed his view while talking to the media today outside the accountability court in Islamabad.

Spilling the beans and political scoring over opponent’s personal lives has been the shameful ethos practised in the political history of Pakistan.
