Famous Thai travel blogger Mark Weins visited Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with his wife, child, and a photographer. Weins started off his journey from Lahore and crossing Islamabad he reached to Mardan through the motorway.
During his stay in Lahore, he visited the heritage sites in Old Lahore and tasted Siri Payee. Mark Weins shared exciting videos from an old, narrow, and congested Bazar in Old Lahore where he stopped to taste Siri payee, though he later had to suffer from stomach cramps.
Upon reaching Mardan he was invited to a breakfast hosted by provincial minister of youth affairs, culture, and archaeology, sports and tourism. Mark Weins with his team stayed in KP for two days.

During his stay in KP, he thoroughly explored the culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. From buying Kaptaan chapals from Namak Mandi Bazaar to eating Chapal kebabs, Mark Wein enjoyed the KP culture to bits.
“We went round Mardan and Peshawar without any security protocol. I believe when you travel, there is no better way than food to connect with people. No matter what culture or country you are from, or wherever you choose to travel, the one thing you and I have in common is that food is a huge part of our lives,” said Mr. Wiens.

“During our two-day stay in KP, we experienced different traditional foods. The Chapli Kabab is one the greatest meat foods I have ever come across in the world. It is the combination of foods and people that make KP a wonderful place for international tourists. There is no recipe for Chapli Kabab, the vendors keep the right ratio of every ingredient in their minds and mixed them into minced meat and slid it into a liquid of animal fats. Only this one meat dish can make the world travel to KP,” said Mr. Wiens.

“KP people are generous, hospitable and peace-loving. We roamed around in Qissa Khawani Bazaar, sipped green tea, enjoyed Kabuli Polao and also Lassi and green veg with maize bread on the roadside,” they added.
His photographer Joel Burnes added that he was amazed to see the change in the landscape, culture, and people as he travelled from Lahore to KP. The team of Thai travel bloggers expressed their pleasure to meet their followers in Mardan. A group of students approached them for a selfie as they said they had already been following them on social media.
