Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) has announced to establish Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the hub of tourism in the country. Pakistan’s new Prime Minister Imran Khan has resolved to revamp the tourism sector in Pakistan. Hence efforts will be subjected to develop KPK as the base camp. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to its lush green beauty and splendid landscape has been the source of attraction for foreign tourists in Pakistan.
In the previous term of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf, multiple projects were initiated and completed to rebuff the tourism in the province. It is reported that the provincial government expanded the budget allocation for the sector. It is stated that prior to PTI government, tourism was listed at 30th position in the priority list. The government after assuming power in the province took it to 8th position in the priority list.
“The rest houses, private tour operators, hotels, motels and guest houses had received record booking orders from foreign and domestic tourists this year compare to last year, showing unshakable trust of tourists and people in the policies of PTI Government,” Hayat Ali Shah, senior manager TKCP.
“Before PTI Govt in KP, tourism was kept on 30th position in priority list in public sectors departments and corporations in term of funding and now it has attained 8th position, thus showing PTI’s priority for this key sector,” said Sajjad Hameed, General Manager, Tourism Corporation KP (TCKP) while talking to APP. “Construction work on four-star hotel adjacent to the Malam Jabba chairlift has entered in the final stage and would be opened for tourists in the upcoming summer season with all modern facilities,” he added.

He further informed that the authorities in the next phase are planning to extend the tourism projects of rest houses in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Kurram Agency, Bajaur and Mohmand districts for the facilitation of the tourists.
