The Wild Life Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seized a pair of snakeskin sandals meant for Prime Minister Imran Khan from a footwear shop in Peshawar.
The officials raided the Afghan Chappal House in the city’s Namak Mandi Area. The shop’s owner Nooruddin Shinwar and his son Islam in their defense said that the skin was sent to them from the US to the shop to craft two ‘Kaptaan Sandals’, one for the donor and other for Premier Khan.

District Officer Wildlife Aleem Khan speaking to a local publication that on Monday they will begin the verification of the confiscated shoe and this was the first such case of such instance.
A few days back the news was afloat on media that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan had ordered two pairs of Peshawari Chappal for himself and his son on the occasion of Eid.
“No matter who the sandals were being made for, an illegal act would never be tolerated.
“If it is proven that the chappals were indeed made of snakeskin then the cobbler will have to face legal consequences as well as a fine provided he shows necessary documentation that it was (legally) imported,” said Aleem Khan while speaking to media.
In 2015, Nooruddin had launched Peshawari Chappal as ‘Kaptaan Sandal’. A few days back the news was afloat on media that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan had ordered two pairs of Peshawari Chappal for himself and his son on the occasion of Eid.

Back in 2016, a shoemaker was arrested for creating a Peshawari Chappal made from deerskin for Shah Rukh Khan. SRK’s cousin sister Noor Jehan in Peshawar stated that she asked Jehangir Khan two make two pairs of the sandals for the actor so that she can take it with them on her visit to India.
