Kylie Jenner named the highest paid celebrity on Forbes’ 2020 list

According to reports, Jenner made most of this year's money by selling her 51 percent stake in Kylie Cosmetics to Coty, an American multinational beauty company.

Kylie Jenner has been named the highest-paid celebrity of 2020. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has reportedly earned more than US$590 million this year alone.

The second on the list – Kanye West – made US$170 million.

The celebrities were named in the Forbes 2020 list. According to reports, Jenner made most of this year’s money by selling her 51 percent stake in Kylie Cosmetics to Coty, an American multinational beauty company. A majority of her brother-in-law West’s money came from his Adidas sneaker deal Yeezy.

Just behind Jenner and West at number three, four, and five positions are sports stars. Tennis champion Roger Federer brought in US$106.3 million, Cristiano Ronaldo took home US$105 million (making him the first player to make US$1 billion in his professional career). Lionel Messi made US$104 million. Tyler Perry came after Messi, at number six. Perry earned around $97 million, mostly from his film franchise ‘Madea’.

Despite various sports being put on hold due to the pandemic, several other sports stars made the top ten list including Neymar (US$95.5 million) and LeBron James (US$88.2 million).

According to the report, the highest-paid celebrities earned a whopping US$6.1 billion dollars which are around US$200 million lower than the 2019 figure.
