Lahore SHO forces man to bark like dog in custody

Punjab Police was urged to take urgent and strict action against SHO for his inhumane behavior following the social media upheaval.

SHO in Lahore forced a man in custody to bark like a dog. The video of the inhumane torture of SHO Badami Bagh Lahore emerged on social media on Thursday.

SHO is identified as Asif Jabbar in the video. The video shows SHO assaulting the man lying on the floor and screaming at him to bark like a dog. The helpless man is heard making the sound of a dog barking.

“I am a dog, whao, whao,” the frightened man can be heard responding to the question when SHO asked, “Who are you?”

Journalist Imran Bhatti has allegedly shared the video on his Twitter account. In his tweet, he said, “Humiliation of humanity in Lahore The SHO of Badami Bagh police station kept forcing the citizen to bark like a dog and subjected him to worst torture. The SHO should not be suspended. He should be dismissed from the department and the punishment should be given separately.”

Punjab Police was urged to take urgent and strict action against SHO for his inhumane behavior following the social media upheaval.

Punjab Police responding to the video said that Inspector General Punjab Police has taken notice of the incident and has ordered the Lahore Police to take action against the concerned police officer. According to the reports, SHO has been suspended from their job and an inquiry has been initiated against him. Punjab Police say further action will be taken against the SHO following the inquiry report.

Back in July, in a major development, Inspector General of Railways Faisal Shahkar haD been appointed the new Inspector General of the Punjab police. The appointment comes as IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan excused himself from further carrying out his duties moments before the crucial Punjab Chief Minister election, the media reported.

According to the details, Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari had earlier raised concern about possible violence taking place at the Punjab Assembly during the election and requested IG Punjab and Chief Secretary to take security measures.
