While senate elections are underway on Wednesday, social media is abuzz with the discussion of the leaked video of Ali Haider Gillani buying votes from parliamentarians.
The video heavily circulating on electronic and social media shows the son of former PM Yousuf Raza Gillani is guiding MPAs of PTI over how to waste a vote. The leaked videos have further added fuel to the frenzy surrounding the corrupt practices in senate elections.

Leaked audio involving Ali Haider Gilani, son of Senate candidate and former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Nasir Hussain Shah revealed offers of millions of rupees being made to the PTI lawmakers ahead of the elections for the Upper House of the Parliament.
Senate elections 2021 have been trending atop on Twitter. The supporters of each party are hopeful their members will win the election. However, the leaked videos of Gillani convincing members of other parties to vote for Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani.

Ali Gillani accepted that he is in the videos, however, he rejected claims of offering monetary incentives to the parliamentarians of PTI.
Following his acceptance, condemnation poured in on social media from netizens who accused the opposition party of obstructing the way towards clean elections and democracy in Pakistan.

Imran Khan’s voters think he has played a masterstroke by exposing the corrupt practices of the opponents just a few days before the Senate elections. His supporters have mocked them for trolling Imran Khan saying that he does not know about Pakistan’s politics. According to them, Imran Khan’s win in the senate elections will rectify the loopholes in the system in the future.
