Renowned Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio endorses Democrat candidate Kamala Harris for the US Presidential elections, in November 2024.

In an Instagram video, DiCaprio discussed the damage caused by recent hurricanes Helene and Milton. The actor added that these ‘unnatural disasters were caused by climate change’.

“Donald Trump continues to deny the facts. He continues to deny the science. He withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Accords and rolled back critical environmental protections,” DiCaprio said. “Now he’s promised the oil and gas industry that he’ll get rid of any regulation they want in exchange for a billion-dollar donation.” Back in 2019, Donald Trump has started the process of withdrawing from the global climate change agreement signed by every country.

He added, “Climate change is killing the earth and ruining our economy. We need a bold step forward to save our economy, our planet, and ourselves. That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris.”

Leonardo asserted that Harris “helped lead the most significant climate action in U.S. history, including passing the Inflation Reduction Act.” He also appreciated her goal of achieving zero net emissions by 2050. Adding that green economy would further create jobs and will also save the planet. “Join me in voting for Kamala Harris on Nov. 5, because we cannot afford to go backwards,” the actor concluded.

Back in 2020, he had not endorsed Joe Biden for the presidential elections. In 2016, he did not back either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton but asked people to vote for whoever “believes in the science of climate change”.

Superstar Beyonce also endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidential elections. Eleven days are left for Americans to choose their next president. Both Kamala Harris and former US President Donald Trump are busy in their campaigns, trying to rope in influential figures to convince the voters.
