The NBC announced that a new show, titled A Little Late with Lilly Singh, will air at 1:35 a.m. EDT beginning in September which will replace Last Call with Carson Daly. Lily Singh will also serve as an executive producer on the series.
Other than Samantha Bee and Busy Philipps – who both host their own late-night shows – Singh will be the only woman to host a daily late-night show on a major broadcast network. Her half-hour program will include in-studio interviews and pre-taped comedy sketches, NBC said. In a statement, Singh called the prospect of being an Indian-Canadian woman with her own late-night show “a dream come true.”

Lilly Singh’s comedy-forward YouTube channel has more than 14 million subscribers. Born on September 26th, 1988, she is a Canadian YouTuber, comedian, television host, and actress widely known as IISuperwomanII. The comedienne appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on a Thursday last month to talk about her new role at NBC. “Ya girl is getting her own NBC late-night show,” Singh said on the telecast. “And to clarify, it’s not Jimmy’s slot.”
NBC’s “Late Night” host Seth Meyers also made an appearance on “The Tonight Show” clutching glasses of champagne to welcome Singh to the club. Fallon then had the three take a “cheesy family photo” since they are all now part of the NBC late-night family.
