French President Emmanuel Macron has stirred a storm after his video of reportedly ignoring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Paris AI Summit.
A video of him missing shaking hands with Narendra Modi has gone viral on social media. The video is making rounds on social media, with several users claiming it a moment of embarrassment for Indian Prime Minister Modi.
The video shows Macron walking down the lane as he met various dignitaries including Vice President of the United States James Vance. Seated beside Vance, Modi also extended his hand to greet Narendra Modi, however, Macron missed the handshake and instead greeted the guests sitting in the next row. He then walked further to meet other guests.
The video has triggered reactions on social media; some claim it a diplomatic slight while others are calling it unintentional. Both the French government and Indian government have not commented on the controversy.
The 3rd Artificial Intelligence Action Summit was held in Paris under the co-chairmanship of France and India.
