Earlier in February this year, a student was allegedly harassed by a bus driver at Sindh University Jamshoro. Top officials had taken notice and demanded an immediate report, while Rehmatullah Shar, in-charge of the university’s transport department, had lodged an FIR against the bus driver.
This is not the first occurrence of harassment in an educational institute in Pakistan. Several cases of harassment and sexual assault have been reported in the past, and they have gained awareness and traction on social media but have still yielded no tangible results.
