Maryam Nawaz denies suffering from throat cancer

She was addressing an event organized by the PMLN to address PMLN workers in London. Her farther Nawaz Sharif was also present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz denied suffering from throat cancer. In a media talk in London on Wednesday, she denied the rumors of suffering from throat cancer.

Speculations regarding her health took off on social media when PMLN informed that Maryam Nawaz was visiting Switzerland for the treatment of her thyroid. She confirmed that she was in Geneva for her medical check-ups. Nawaz said she is suffering from a disease related to parathyroid gland.

“I have been working non-stop for eight months. I have been suffering from Parathyroid. This can be cured only in Switzerland or America, I was in Geneva for my check-ups.”

“I can confirm I don’t have throat cancer as reported,” she stated.

“I didn’t want to play victim about my matter but I have been compelled to address this. I am going back to Pakistan in two days.”

She was addressing an event organized by the PMLN to address PMLN workers in London. Her farther Nawaz Sharif was also present in the meeting. Nawaz, addressing PML-N workers, expressed optimism about Pakistan’s future, attributing progress to the hard work of his brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Maryam.

In her press talk, Maryam said that there is no overnight solution to tackle smog. It will take years to deal with the issue. She added that under her leadership, Punjab is progressing and inflation is coming down in the province.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif once again expressed his grievances for disqualifying him on the Panama Papers scandal. He named former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan. He blamed them for derailing Pakistan’s growth.

“You are responsible for the destruction of Pakistan. All of you played a dirty role. Pakistan could have become the ‘Asian Tiger’ today if it was not for what you did. You did a huge injustice to Pakistan, for your selfish motives,” he asserted.
