Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is receiving flak on social media after calling the alleged victim girl in the Punjab College alleged rape case as ‘clean and pure’.

In her press conference on Wednesday, she said that the incident is a ‘fabricated story’ and that girl is the target of the dirty political campaign by a party.

Addressing the press conference, Maryam Nawaz asserted that no such incident had happened. The girl is clean and pure and she is wrongly labelled as the rape victim. She is being admitted in the hospital’s ICU after falling from the stairs.

Another user shared a clip from her press conference and said ‘First female CM of Punjab implies on national TV that getting raped makes women impure and unclean.’

Meanwhile, PTI too slammed her in a tweet on X. PTI said: ‎’ Maryam Nawaz, Form47 CM of Punjab, implies on national TV that getting raped makes women impure and unclean.’

‘Such a statement deeply undermines the dignity and humanity of survivors of sexual violence.’

‘Maryam Nawaz should stop shifting the burden of guilt onto victims rather than perpetrators. Such statements bring shame to the office of the CM.’

Maryam Nawaz in her press conference had blasted PTI for creating and spreading a fabricated story to create a law and order situation in Punjab after their failed protests and rallies.
