Maryam Nawaz was greeted by enthusiastic PMLN workers outside NAB premises who showered petals on her car.
However, Maryam Nawaz failed to answer most questions posed by the investigation team. She was therefore summoned again on August 8th. A questionnaire was also handed to her, to be answered and submitted by the next hearing.
Asked how a hefty sum of $ 480 million had been transferred from Dubai to her personal bank account, Maryam Nawaz flatly said she did not how it happened. The NAB team grilled her on the question, pointing out that it was unbelievable that she had no knowledge of the transactions that had happened in her own account.

To this Maryam Nawaz reportedly answered that NAB should seek replies to these questions from Mian Sharif and Abbas Sharif. Both men have already passed away.
The NAB is said to have traced numerous telegraphic transfers (TTs) worth millions of rupees by the Sharif family and the end beneficiaries allegedly included Maryam Nawaz and other owners of the Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
The NAB investigation is now trying to ascertain if Maryam Nawaz and other Sharif family members are stakeholders in the Chaudhry Sugar mills.

The case has reportedly been substantiated by the money laundering investigations being carried out against PMLN leaders Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz.
Yousuf Abbas, son of the late Abbas Sharif, has also been involved in the investigation.
after coming back from NAB, Maryam Nawaz took to twitter to decry the NAB as a tool built for political victimisation
Back from NAB. Told them the questions about family business have been asked & answered a zillion times & nothing found even by agenda-driven JIT. But since the aim is to use NAB as a tool to harass & victimise, the theatre of the absurd continues.
