The scandal involving 5,500 objectionable videos of female students at Islamia University Bahawalpur has come to light. Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, an elected Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Yazman, Bahawalpur, and also the central secretary-general of the Muslim League-Q and a federal minister, received information that his son had become addicted to Ice (Methamphetamine) and was sexually exploiting hundreds of female students at the Islamic University Bahawalpur through blackmail.
Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema was warned about the potential political damage if the videos of his son were made public. Shockingly, it was also revealed that Major Ijaz Shah, the security chief of the Islamia University Bahawalpur, was also involved in the scandal. In response, Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema contacted police officers who were related to him, requesting their assistance in saving his son. He also demanded the arrest of Ijaz Shah and the confiscation of the explicit videos and images to prevent his son from being exposed on social media.
Arrest and Revelations
The police authorities acted on the request and arrested Ijaz Shah, confiscating a large number of explicit videos and images from his mobile phone. The investigation led to sensational revelations. Ijaz Shah disclosed that influential political figures and influential officers’ sons, including the son of Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, were part of this gang.
Blackmail Scheme and Sexual Exploitation
Ijaz Shah further revealed that he had been monitoring the security cameras at the Islamia University Bahawalpur. He used the footage to film female students hugging, smoking with friends under trees, and near university buildings. These videos were then used to blackmail the students, threatening to share them with their parents.

Moreover, Ijaz Shah would bring scared female students to the homes of influential gang members, including the son of Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, where sexual exploitation would occur. This appalling situation had been ongoing for a significant period. The investigation also exposed the involvement of professors and staff members of the Islamic University Bahawalpur in the gang.
Outrage and Demands for Justice
Once the scandal surfaced on social media, there was widespread outrage. Social activist Rashid Aziz Bhatta, an advocate for the rights of the vulnerable, demanded the arrest of Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema’s son and all the gang members. He asserted that no leniency should be shown to any influential accused, emphasizing the importance of bringing them to justice.
Criticism of Media Silence
Bhatta also criticized the silence of electronic media on this crucial issue, raising concerns about questionable signs. He suggested that Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema might have control over the electronic media to prevent the real facts from being publicly disclosed.
