Mathira calls out Chahat Fateh Ali Khan for harassment

Television host Mathira has called out entertainer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan following the release of the Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) video released online by the singer.

In the video, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan is seen greeting Mathira warmly and requesting a picture with her. Reluctant initially, Mathira later agreed to the photo. His body language with Mathira while clicking pictures with her, soon caught the attention of the social media users. The clip, shared by Khan on his official Facebook page, quickly caught the attention of netizens, sparking a wave of trolling and disapproval.

“Mathira looks visibly uncomfortable; this is not okay,” one user commented. Another added, “I’ve never seen her this scared and awkward before.” The comments section of Khan’s post is now flooded with similar reactions, with fans urging the entertainer to rethink his on-screen conduct, especially when interacting with female hosts.

Following the video, Mathira opened up about the incident. She slammed Chahat Fateh Ali Khan for crossing professional boundaries. She said the overly expressive behavior of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan made her uncomfortable.

She also condemned the sharing of the BTS footage of the show on social media. Mathira called herself a bold personality but called for people to respect her boundaries.

“Yes, I am a bold personality, but that does not mean I would let you hug or touch me if you see me,” she stated.

She also expressed a broader message about respect, saying, “This has taught me a valuable lesson about treating people with kindness.”

This is not the first time, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has garnered social media backlash. He has been trolled several times for his quirky videos, over-the-top performances, and parody songs. The entertainer, calling himself a singer, is known for Madam Noor Jahan’s parody of ‘Ankhan Lari Bado Badi’.
