In a video that has spread across social media, the claim of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has astounded many Pakistanis. In the video that was taken during Fazl-ur-Rehman’s address to a small public gathering, the JUI-F Chief claims to have talked with the first human, Hazrat Adam (A.S) on the telephone in a dream.
According to the JUI-F Chief, the dream came to him a few years ago when he was in Buner. According to him, in the dream he was sitting in his room when the phone rang. When he picked it up Hazrat Adam was on the other side. He asked the JUI-F Chief “What do you want?”, to which he responded to straight away by saying “Peace”.
Dr. Tahir ul Qadri’s assertions were often used to attack him by his opponents including members of JUI-F. They asserted that he had used the claim of such a dream to mislead the masses in the name of religion.
There was a long pause after which Hazrat Adam said “Can’t you wait a while”. After that the dream ended. The JUI-F chief said the dream ended then but he is still waiting for “Peace”. The dreams in which prophets appear are a mark of righteousness and divine pleasure. However, in recent times, religio political figures have started using the claims of such dreams more often.
The most famous dream of recent times is perhaps that of Dr. Tahir Ul Qadri of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek. Dr. Tahir Ul Qadri asserts that “In a dream I saw that there are a lot of people gathered in a ground. Someone told me that the Prophet (PBUH) is present there and is very angry that why people of Pakistan have done nothing for Islam. The Prophet (PBUH) is saying that he came on the invitation of the scholars, but now he is angry with them.
According to him, in the dream he was sitting in his room when the phone rang. When he picked it up Hazrat Adam was on the other side. He asked the JUI-F Chief “What do you want?”, to which he responded to straight away by saying “Peace”.
He (i.e. the Prophet (PBUH)) is going to leave this country. On this I (i.e. Dr. Sahib) went to the Prophet (PBUH) and begged [for] forgiveness on the behalf of my country fellows. After some time, the Prophet (PBUH)’s anger reduced and He accepted my invitation to stay in Pakistan. He asked me to make arrangements related to his stay and travel including the arrangement of the ticket of the journey.”
Dr. Tahir ul Qadri’s assertions were often used to attack him by his opponents including members of JUI-F. They asserted that he had used the claim of such a dream to mislead the masses in the name of religion. However, it will be intriguing to see how JUI-F supporters will now react after what their leader has said about his dreams.
