Mehwish Hayat recounts memorable moment of receiving Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

She posted her video of receiving Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from President Arif Alvi in a ceremony last year. Since then, Mehwish Hayat has ascended to greater heights of fame and success. Besides carrying her career, she also made waves across international media for calling out relentless vilification of Pakistan by Hollywood and Bollywood.

Actress Mehwish Hayat recalled the memorable day she received Pakistan’s prestigious civil accolade, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, last year on Pakistan Day 23rd March.

She posted her video of receiving Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from President Arif Alvi in a ceremony last year. She wrote, “Can’t believe that today it’s been a year from this life-changing moment when I was bestowed with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the Medal of Excellence. It seems like yesterday.”

Mehwish Hayat took a walk down the memory lane and recounted her efforts to live up to the expectations and responsibility that comes with the honor.

She said, “The words of the President saying “Proud of you Beta” still ring in my head. The past year has made me much stronger & I shoulder the responsibility that comes with the honor.”

She reiterated her pledge to continue to make her country proud. She expressed gratitude to people for supporting her.

“Thank you to all those who have supported me & those that have never failed to remind me each day of this moment. I love you all,” she wrote after her tweet.

Mehwish Hayat had dedicated her Tamgha-e-Imtiaz to all the other girls who have dreams like her.

Since then, Mehwish Hayat has ascended to greater heights of fame and success. Besides carrying her career, she also made waves across international media for calling out relentless vilification of Pakistan by Hollywood and Bollywood.

She vociferously condemned the lockdown of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces in August 2019 and slammed the Indian government for provoking war hysteria; endangering the stability and peace of the region.

She has championed several social causes including the promotion of hockey and child education in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Human Rights had appointed Mehwish Hayat, the socially woke Pakistani actress, the Goodwill Ambassador for girl child rights on International Day of the Girl Child on Friday, October 11th.

Mehwish Hayat expressed her delight over being selected to head the awareness campaign on the issue at every forum possible. Adding that the issue is close to her heart and she will support the Human Rights Ministry of Pakistan in achieving their goals in this realm.
