Mercedes-Benz car and van sales fell 4% to 2.39 million vehicles in 2024 amid a challenging global market, with top-end vehicle sales weighed by market conditions in China, model changes and weak electric-vehicle demand.
Sales fell 2% in the final quarter of 2024 compared with the corresponding quarter of 2023.

The luxury German auto maker sold 625,800 cars and vans in the fourth quarter as top-end car sales rose 1% on the year while sales of its core models rose 10%. However, its entry-level models saw a 15% sales drop.
“We finished the year with a strong sales quarter, especially with our top-end vehicles and the G-Class in particular,” said Britta Seeger, member of the board of management of Mercedes-Benz Group Marketing & Sales.
By region, car sales in North America rose 11% in the quarter on the year, while sales grew 3% in China and fell 5% in Europe.

Battery-electric car sales fell 26% in the quarter, it said.
