Misfortune of India

Hindus who want to see India as a sensible country are reluctant to come forward to play their part. Attempts have been made to block the Sangh Parivar's efforts to subdue the minorities, but all this is half-hearted. India's highly educated Hindus and the business community are watching the whole affair as mere spectators.

Call it the misfortune of India that it is being run by people who are utterly irrational and shortsighted. Only a few Indians have an idea of where Narendra Modi and his gang are taking India. Modi used only the card of religion and came to power again. Narendra Modi and his associates have brought the country to a standstill with their limited thinking and extremely prejudiced attitude towards all minorities including Muslims.

Those who have entered the political arena in the name of protecting the cow from being slaughtered have gone many steps beyond their declarations and claims and are now suffocating all minorities. The Modi government strengthened the vote bank in the name of cows for more or less five years. In the recent past, by inaugurating the Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex, a good card was played to strengthen the position of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the elections.

It was as if the vote bank had been strengthened. The question is, is there any other way to strengthen the vote bank? Prominent figures in the Indian media are now openly criticizing the intentions and actions of Modi and his gang.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said in an interview with Russian TV that India is ruled by racist fanatics. Nationalism is not a bad thing, but there is a lot of ugliness in promoting extremism in the name of nationalism. Narendra Modi and his gang have gone through a series of divisions in Indian society over the years. Hindu extremism has been promoted to such an extent that not only Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and lower-caste Hindus (Dalits) but also moderate Hindus are disturbed across the country. The Bharatiya Janata Party and other parties and organizations in the Sangh Parivar are shamelessly promoting extremism across India.

Hindus who want to see India as a sensible country are reluctant to come forward to play their part. Attempts have been made to block the Sangh Parivar’s efforts to subdue the minorities, but all this is half-hearted. India’s highly educated Hindus and the business community are watching the whole affair as mere spectators. What some people do on their own is not enough. If society is to be saved from the deadly frenzy of extremists, it must come to the fore. The sooner the better.

A few months ago, Sikh farmer leaders from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh stopped the Modi government. Elimination of discriminatory laws was one of the main demands of the farmers. The Modi government tried hard to surround the Sikh peasant leaders but failed. He breathed a sigh of relief as he was determined to comply with his demands in all circumstances. The capital was besieged by Sikh peasant leaders for months. Narendra Modi declared many times that the Sikh peasant leaders would not show any weakness and their demands would not be accepted but then the whole world saw that Narendra Modi had to face the Sikhs.

The government had to withdraw the controversial laws

This was a great victory for the Sikhs. The general idea was that since they were a minority, they would not be able to do much and would eventually return unsuccessfully, but they persevered. Punjab is called the food basket for India. The fertile land of Punjab and its adjoining states grows grains and fruits for the whole region. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and adjoining states are also prominent in dairy products.

The people of the Sangh Parivar, due to their recklessness, have provoked anti-minority sentiments all over India and have now turned them into a series. Muslims, Sikhs and Christians are coming together on one platform. The fact that Narendra Modi and all his colleagues should be well aware that by dividing the society they are actually uniting the minorities.

Recently, an Indian scholar while portraying the picture of India mentioned that Radicalization will not take route outside of the Hindu belt, however, it will take routes in the north India Hindu as Modi is using Hindutva for his own political gains pragmatically. Moreover, he said that General feelings of Muslims being rated as 2nd class citizens are increasing day by day and Muslims are not empowered enough to pose any challenge to BJP government at the moment.

The use of biased laws to wall off all minorities, including Muslims, and keep them untouchable in society can be costly, not only for extremists but for society as a whole and the state structure.

The situation in India is critical. Many issues together are sounding the alarm. Modi & Co. is not in a position to blame anyone because they have set the alarm for security and integrity themselves. These people are proving to be the elephants of Porus for India. Neutral intellectuals are openly saying that India’s defeat could begin at any time. Narendra Modi, now takes the nails of consciousness.
