A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday as a young motorbike rider lost his life in a collision involving a vehicle from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s security convoy in the Chandowal area of Narowal district.
According to the district police officer (DPO), the vehicles were en route to Kartarpur for CM Maryam’s security arrangements when the mishap occurred. The DPO stated that the security squad’s vehicle collided with the motorcycle while attempting to overtake it.

The chief minister was in Kartarpur to address a gathering of pilgrims at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib on the occasion of the Baisakhi Mela.
The deceased rider’s body was moved to Narowal district headquarters hospital, and an FIR was registered on behalf of the victim’s family. The DPO assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted, and appropriate legal action would be taken against those found responsible.

The victim’s cousin filed the case at Saddar police station, seeking justice for the family’s loss. In the FIR, he recounted that he was at his shop when he learned about the accident involving his cousin, Abu Bakar, who tragically succumbed to his injuries at the DHQ hospital.
