Nawaz Sharif owns lands covering thousands of acres in Punjab: NAB report

Properties of Nawaz sharif cover thousands of acres collectively, and are spread over various cities, NAB has reported

The former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader, Nawaz Sharif, possesses land exceeding 1752 canals, reported ‘Samaa’. The land he owns is spread over into different cities; Muree, Lahore, Abbottabad, and Sheikhupura, according to the National Accountability Bureau.

The NAB had released a report containing details of the assets owned by Nawaz Sharif in the Tashakhana reference, Friday. NAB had sifted through Nawaz’s bank account, property, and vehicle records. The had obtained this information from the Lahore Development Authority.

Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari accused of misusing ‘Toshakhana’

The Toshakhana is an official treasury where gifts from foreign dignitaries or heads of state are deposited.

Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP Chairman, have been accused of misusing the treasury for personal gains, obtaining luxury cars by paying only 15% of the price of the vehicles.

The report stated that Nawaz owns shares in four companies.

He has 467,950 shares in textile mills, 343,425 shares in the Hudaibiya Paper Mills and over 22,000 shares in the Hudaibiya Engineering Company. In the Ittefaq Textile Mills, the leader has over 48,000 shares.

“Nawaz Sharif has eight international accounts in multiple local banks,” the report had read.

NAB added that Nawaz owns a 15-canal house in Abbottabad and other property in Murree and Lahore’s Upper Mall Road. “He and his family own land spread across 1,752 canals all across the country,” the report added.
