Did Pakistanis let the ball drop after Zarb-e-Azb?

Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, a fugitive from the court and based in London, while addressing PML-N parliamentarians, members of provincial assembly, election candidates and workers, said that the army was behind Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Nawaz was ahead. While addressing party leaders in Lahore, Vice President PMLN said that “no doubt the army was behind all these operations that restored peace in the country. The constitution and the law should be respected, not out of revenge but simply because that is the right thing to do. There should be accountability.” said Maryam.

In her speech, Maryam Nawaz said that Nawaz Sharif had said, “Prepare your daughter’s bag, arrest Sina Tan, Nawaz Sharif’s case has reached the streets, neighborhoods, the role of the media is to spread his voice to the streets. Maryam further said that she wanted to assure the workers that they were not left alone. “At the time of sacrifice, people hide in the container. The workers move forward. At the time of sacrifice, they will see Maryam Nawaz standing in the front row.” she promised.

The PML-N leader said that “when you play the drums, the testimony of Bashir Memon will come. When you play the drums, the testimony of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui will come, and the sounds of pizza will come.”

Reiterating a slogan of her father to give respect to vote, she said that the treatment of all illnesses of Pakistan lies in the restoration of the sanctity of vote.

Maryam further added that she and Nawaz Sharif both have been disqualified and questioned for whom they are fighting. Talking about the 2018 general elections, she said that the sanctity of vote and the Constitution was dishonored and the ticket holders of the party are witness of this violation. He said that preparations for poll rigging had been started three months before the elections.

She said that the daughter of Nawaz Sharif is here in the country to stand along party workers whether the former premier is abroad for treatment.

Responding to a court order for publishing advertisements to summon Nawaz Sharif, she said that every poster reflects the picture of former president Pervez Musharraf.

Hitting out at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), she remarked that the anti-graft buster cannot dare to summon PM Imran Khan’s sister Haleema Khan and CPEC Chairman Asim Saleem Bajwa.
