Nawaz’s last-ditch message from Abu-Dhabi to gather support

Ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a video message called upon the public of Pakistan to support him in the upcoming poll on July 25. While on Route to Pakistan from London after a month-long stay, Nawaz said that Pakistan has reached a decisive juncture.

PML-N made real inroads after father-daughter traveled across Punjab and KP to urge people to stand against repression of the military establishment.

Maryam Nawaz shared the video on her Twitter account, with a caption that Nawaz has full filled his responsibility and now it’s your turn. While addressing the people of Pakistan, Nawaz said, “I have done all that I could. I know I have been sentenced for 10 years and that I will be taken straight to prison.”

He urged the people of Pakistan to come forward and support him. “Please support me and walk with me at every step. We must change the country’s future. This opportunity will not come again,” he added.

Moreover, “I have to tell the Pakistani nation that I am doing this for them. I am giving this sacrifice for your coming generations,” he elaborated. Ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz is expected to land in Lahore at 6:00 pm today [Friday] after a month-long stay in London.

Father-daughter duo is to start their prison sentence soon after the arrival. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has reportedly arranged two helicopters which are expected to shift the convicted criminals to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.

Though, PML-N has assured the peaceful rally to welcome Nawaz. NAB and the government of Punjab are not willing to take any risk to avoid any law and order situation in the Lahore city.

NAB Chairman, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has warned that anyone who would obstruct the arrest of Nawaz will be dealt with. The anti-watchdog had summoned the emergency meeting to discuss the issue and declared that it will follow the court orders and may take stern action against the PML-N workers obstructing Nawaz’s arrest.

Nawaz has made a last-ditch effort to woo the public. Like an astute politician, he is taking steps to lure the party workers to show solidarity with him.

He’s giving an impression as his return and subsequent arrest is the price, been paid for the future of the country. The accountability across the board is crucial to convince the masses, which may be reluctant to believe in Nawaz’s accountability.

Thus far Nawaz has been successful in his effort to play the victimhood with perfection. PML-N’s election campaign may have kick-started with Shehbaz’s visit of Karachi. But, in fact, PML-N made real inroads after father-daughter traveled across Punjab and KP to urge people to stand against repression of the military establishment.

Despite his absence from Pakistan for a month, which may have affected party’s campaign. But, powerful and emotional advertisement campaign coupled with these appealing video messages, Nawaz is working effortlessly to convince public of military’s intervention in his ousting, electoral engineering and his conviction in accountability court.
