Ford has launched a compact double cabin, the Maverick 2022, with an affordable price tag of $20,000. It is one of the first hybrid pick-ups. While there is an all-wheel-drive variant, the front-wheel-drive standard variant targets 17 kilometers per liter in the city.
Ford Maverick is the need of the Pakistani market which has a double cabin and off-road and fuel-efficient vehicle lovers. The best thing about the Maverick is that it’s cheap as compared to Toyota Vigo. Unfortunately, it becomes unfeasible to import to Pakistan due to heavy import duties.
The Maverick measures 5072mm long and 1727mm high, putting it 282mm shorter and 61mm lower than the Ranger. It only comes as a double-cab with a 1382mm tray capable of hauling a payload of 680kg.
The massive headlights are the dominant feature of the front end. Standard wheels are 17-inch steelies, upgradeable to 17- or 18-inch alloys in silver or black.
From inside Maverick shows an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, a bunch of physical controls for air-conditioning and media, a rotary gear selector, and a handful of storage cubbies.
