Nine young talented Pakistanis have featured in the 2018 Forbes Asia’s ‘30 under 30′ list for pioneering groundbreaking innovations in their respective fields. Forbes every year picks 30 game-changers from 10 categories, “who are re-inventing industries and driving change” across the continent.
Here are the nine Pakistanis who made it to the list:
Muhammad Asad along with his partner Asad Raza Shah launches ‘Neurostic’, a healthcare startup that aims to provide high quality and low cost implantable and wearable devices for the developing world. Their startup provides affordable prosthetic limbs for amputees in Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, and places that have no access to rehabilitation facilities. They have featured in ‘health and science’ category.
Muhammad Shaheer Niazi, a seventeen-year-old student, and a scientist discovered a way to photograph the movements of forming a honeycomb-like shape when electrically charged particles try to pass through a pool of oil. He too, featured in the Health and science category. Niazi had his research published in the Royal Open Science Journal. He aspired to win the noble prize in Physics one day.

An entrepreneur Sadia Bashir, 29, co-founded Pixel Art Games Academy that aims to bridge the gap between the gaming industry demand in education by providing video game training and recruitment opportunities.
Hamza Farrukh, 24, founded ‘Bondh-e- Shams’, a Solar Water Project. He has developed a solar-powered water filtration and extraction plant, costing $8000. The plant has a lifespan of 25 years and can serve nearly 5000 people daily.
Syed Faizan Hussain, a 23-year old entrepreneur has initiated multiple projects under his start-up ‘Perihelion System’. Some of his startup products include Edu-Aid, sign language translating software. One Health, a disease surveillance and tracking system used to predict outbreaks and alert health institutions to expedite intervention. Another project includes ‘Glove Gauge’, wearable technology to facilitate professional production processes such as measurement.
Adeel and Adnan Shafi made it into the e-commerce and retail category. They created a website ‘PriceOye’, a search engine that allows buyers to compare the prices of mobile phones in second and third-tier cities in Pakistan. They founded the platform in 2015.
The platform uses data analytics to provide marketing information to retailers and on the other hand, finds the best deals from a variety of retailers to consumers.

The last Pakistani to feature in the list is musician Momina Mustehsan. She rose to fame after making her debut in Coke Studio alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Momina Mustehsan became a singing sensation overnight and since then she is using her star power to promote women empowerment campaigns in Pakistan.
