Omar Ayub Khan vows to fight govt despite being brutally beaten

The images showed bruises on Omar Ayub's body where the police hit him with sticks. While sharing the images, Omar Ayub Khan said the government can do whatever it wants, however, PTI will never back down.

Former Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan sustained serious injuries during PTI’s Azadi March where the police resorted to using extreme force to disperse the PTI protestors.

The police used batons against Omar Ayub Khan who later shared images of his injuries on Twitter. The images showed bruises on Omar Ayub’s body where the police hit him with sticks. While sharing the images, Omar Ayub Khan said the government can do whatever it wants, however, PTI will never back down.

“Do whatever you want, but you can’t stop us. Evidence of Punjab Police terrorism. While clearing the Burhan Bridge from the Punjab Police, faced the police baton charge but achieved the target,” Omar Ayub tweeted.

Due to his bravery, he is being hailed on Twitter. Moreover, Twitteratis are condemning the police brutality against a former minister.

“I strongly condemn the violence against Omar Ayub. In what democracy in the world is a member of the National Assembly subjected to such torture,” PTI MNA Saleem Rehman tweeted.

PTI leaders injured

Wednesday was a very violent day in Punjab as the government tried to stop the Azadi March from happening.

PTI leader Hammad Azhar was also injured after a tear gas shell hit his face. According to details, former energy minister Hammad Azhar shared a video on his Twitter in which he can be seen with a wound over his left eye. He had been injured after a policeman fired a tear gas shell right at his face, he claimed.

Similarly, former health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid also received minor injuries. In her case, she was heading to Batti Chowk when police forces attacked her car. They smashed her windshield, due to which she received injuries.

Moreover, four PTI workers lost their lives as a result of police brutality during the march. In addition to this, the protestors also had to endure the tear gas shelling and police beatings.
