Where Shahid Afridi enjoys worldwide following, he has also been in the spotlight for his political activism despite not being part of any political party.

Several times Afridi has called for the resolution of Kashmir issue, condemned the indiscriminate killings of Kashmiri, and criticized the state of Indian for their atrocities in the IOK.

A few days back calling out the senior leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf Afridi insisted them to keep aside their differences and work as a team for the betterment of Pakistan. He was referring to the news of alleged disputes between Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jehangir Tareen.

He has also been quite vocal internationally about the Kashmir issue and atrocities of Indian Forces on Kashmiri people.

From time to time he has been raising the Kashmir issue and even backed the stance of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Kashmir issue last year. He stated, “I totally support Imran Bhai! I have always maintained the same. Justice must be delivered, Kashmiris must get to decide their future”.

Due to these reasons, Afridi has been under the radar of criticism from Indian media for repeatedly speaking up on Kashmir issue at various international forums. Several times Afridi has called for the resolution of Kashmir issue, condemned the indiscriminate killings of Kashmiri, and criticized the state of Indian for their atrocities in the IOK.

Last year, Shahid Khan Afridi was seen addressing the Pakistani students at British Parliament and said that Kashmir would be better off as an independent state since Pakistan is struggling to handle its own four provinces.
