Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Sherdil team will be performing at the opening ceremony of Champions Trophy in Karachi. The opening ceremony will is scheduled on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025.
The Sherdil squadron of PAF will be performing a spectacular aerobatic display at the skies of Karachi, enthralling the audiences in attendance at the stadium.
The Sherdil team will grace the skies of Karachi after a gap of five years.
Sherdil, translated to Lion’s heart, will fly Karakoram-8 aircraft and will perform various manoeuvres during the aerobatic display including barrel rolls, loops, and bomb bursts besides the colored smoke. The Pakistani made JF-17 Thunder and F-16 jets will also be a part of the air show.
The Sherdil squadron last flew in Karachi in 2020 on the first anniversary of the downing of Indian jet at Karachi’s sea view. Meanwhile, Sherdil squadron has been performing at various air shows including in Dubai, Abu Dhabi.
Karakoram-8 is an advanced Pakistan-made trainer aircraft, used to train the new pilots. With the breathtaking flypast, PAF will display the country’s airpower.
The opening match is expected to be played between Pakistan and New Zealand.
