Pakistan beats India to win 19th Asian Junior Squash Championship

Pakistan won 19th Asian Junior Squash Championship in Pataya Thailand after beating arch-foe India in a thrilling contest. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, who is also the President of Pakistan Squash Federation on Sunday congratulated Pakistan Junior Squash team on their victory.

He admired the great victory of Pakistani team against India in final, also appreciated the untiring efforts of the coaching staff and Pakistan Squash Federation for training the players according to international standards.

Both Pakistan and India teams displayed superb skills in the final, however, Pakistani players won their respective matches. In the first match Farhan Hashmi beat Veer Chotrani with the game score 02/11, 11/9, 11/7, 5/11 and 11/9.

Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, who is also the President of Pakistan Squash Federation on Sunday congratulated Pakistan Junior Squash team on their victory.

Veer dominated his opponent from the very start of the match and won the first game with the score 11/2. arhan consolidated his grip on the match by winning second and third games with the score 11/9 and 11/7.

The team received a warm welcome upon their return on Monday, where they were received by Director Academies Pakistan Squash Federation, Air Commodore (retd) Aftab Sadiq Qureshi along with other PSF officials.

Later, a reception was held for the winning team at a local hotel. Talking to media on the occasion Secretary PSF Tahir Sultan said that Pakistan team played with great passion to emerge victorious in the event. “This is a great achievement. I congratulate the whole nation. Our players produced superb performances throughout the event,” he said.

The Pakistan team included Abbas Zeb, Haris Qasim, Farhan Hashmi and Muhammad Hamza Khan.
