Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, is commemorated every year on December 25 as Quaid-e-Azam Day, a public holiday in the country. Wreaths are laid at his mausoleum in Karachi, and special programs about Jinnah are broadcasted on TV and radio stations. Events at Mazar-e-Quaid, attended by prominent leaders, military commanders, and citizens, aim to highlight Jinnah’s life. On this day, all public and private sectors, including schools and universities, organize various events such as debates, seminars, and exhibitions.
Jinnah, known as “Quaid-e-Azam” (Great Leader) played a crucial role in the founding of Pakistan. As the first governor-general, he faced the challenge of organizing a country torn by communal violence. Despite suffering from tuberculosis, he worked tirelessly to establish governance. Jinnah’s efforts and vision for a separate Muslim State culminated in the creation of Pakistan in 1947. His birthday, December 25, was declared Quaid-e-Azam Day, observed with the hoisting of the national flag and formal events.
