Pakistan clinches first home Test series win in three years

Pakistan won the third test match of the series against England on Saturday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Green Shirts defeated the England team by nine wickets.

Pakistan needed only 36 runs to win the match. Losing the wicket of Saim Ayub, skipper Shan Masood in partnership with Abdullah Shafiq won the match. Shan Masood hit four boundaries and one six to seal the victory for the team.

Pakistan also won the three-match Test series against England by 2-1. This also marks their first home Test series win in three years. The Test series victory pumped up the cricket fans in Pakistan who were dejected and hopeless with the humiliating defeats on home soil in the past few years.

Pakistan Cricket had touched its lowest low with continuous defeats in almost all formats, particularly in the Test format. Bangladesh whitewashed Pakistan in the home Test series this year.

The team also lost the first Test match of the series by a heavy margin, forcing the management to make some bold and significant decisions. Pakistan dropped Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Babar Azam from the squad. The management also prepared the pitches as per the home conditions for Pakistan.

The heroics of spinning duo Sajid Khan and Noman Ali helped Pakistan clinch victory in the two-Test series as well as the series. Noman and Sajid took 19 of the 20 English wickets in this match. In the last two Test matches, the pair claimed 39 wickets outs of 40. Not only with the ball but these two players also contributed to the success of the team with their bat.

Former cricketers are delighted, fans rejoice as Pakistan secured their first home Test series win in three years. The defining victory in the series came for Pakistan at Multan Cricket Stadium. The spinning duo of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan cruised Pakistan to victory. Noman Ali took 11 wickets in the second Test match and 9 wickets taken by Sajid Khan. Pakistan won the second Test match by 152 runs.
